What is Bushcrafting?

Bushcrafting is a set of skills and ways of doing things that help you live and do well in nature, especially in the wild. It includes a lot of different things and ways of knowing, such as

-Shelter Building: Using natural materials from the surroundings to build short- or long-term shelters.

-Fire Making: The ability to start and keep a fire going without modern tools or gadgets, usually by using friction-based methods like the bow drill or the hand drill.

-"Foraging" means finding plants, berries, nuts, and other natural food sources that you can eat and safely gathering them.

-Hunting and Trapping: The ability to hunt, fish, and trap for food while following local rules and morals.

-Use of Tools and Crafts: Making and using tools out of natural things like bone, stone, and wood.

-Navigation: The ability to use natural landmarks, the stars, the sun, and simple navigating tools to find your way in the wild.

-Water Procurement and Purification: getting safe drinking water and making sure it is clean.

-Knot Tying: Knowing how to tie different kinds of knots and when to use each one.

People often do bushcraft as a hobby or to get closer to nature, but the skills you learn can be very useful in survival conditions. There are some differences between it and easy camping. For example, you need to know more about the natural world and be able to survive without modern tools and conveniences.
